For anyone who knows me, one of the key things they recognize about me is my addiction to walking. I love walking so much that I will purposely take the longest route possible to get to where I need to go. The beauty of walking is that not only can it be enjoyable, but it's also a great form of exercise. Of course you won't lose as many calories as quickly as you would by running, but in the long-haul you can go further than you could by running because you are preserving your energy.
It also really builds leg muscles if you walk enough. You don't have to keep a pedometer on you to know when you've walked a lot. You can feel it in your calf muscles which, if you walk enough, will get to be nice and lean. (I really like calf muscles. They keep you going. Don't judge...)
There are so many benefits to walking that it's almost ridiculous not to. Besides the health benefits, it is also extremely relaxing if you do it not for exercise or not to go anywhere, but for the sheer joy of the journey. Take a moment to relax, and just walk around a park or your neighbourhood. It will help improve your mental health as well as your physical health.
This has been your Claire rant of the day.

How to Cut Apples
Apples are delicious, but sometimes you don't get all the bang for your bite because it's more difficult to eat as much of the apple by knawing on it. Next time you reach for an apple, try this our.
First, take an apple, and make sure it's already washed off. Always wash your fruits and vegetables. You never know where they've been. Put it on a cutting board with the stem facing upwards. Then, slice a quarter of the apple, like such.
First, take an apple, and make sure it's already washed off. Always wash your fruits and vegetables. You never know where they've been. Put it on a cutting board with the stem facing upwards. Then, slice a quarter of the apple, like such.
Then cut the rest of the sides of the apple until you are left with only the core.
Now, take your quarters of the apple and slice them as thinly or as thickly as your heart desires. Personally, I like to cut them very thin, because I have bad teeth and I also like to challenge my cutting skills.
Happy cutting!
